Breaking News Maison Alaïa names Pieter Mulier creative director 🗞🚨

Having started his career as an inter at Raf Simmons’ eponymous brand and risen to become his right hand at Jil Sander and Dior, the Belgian designer @pieter_mulier has since handed in some of the most influential collections of the past 20 years. Yet, his name might not be as familiar.

Then, why is he a good choice for French couturier Alaïa?

Maison Alaïa, founded by the Tunisian designer Azzedine Alaïa in Paris in 1980, has long done things its own way, shying away from the fashion calendar and only showing a collection when it was deemed ready by Alaïa himself. Thus, Mulier’s remarkable technical talent and devotion to the craft, his sharp eye for construction, and his sense of timeless beauty, could well be deeply ingrained in the creative approach of the Maison.
